Key Person System
When your child starts with us, they will be a allocated a Key Person.
Our aim is to make the pre-school a welcoming and supportive place where children settle quickly and easily, taking into account the individual needs and circumstances of each child and their family. We want every child to feel safe, stimulated, happy and to feel secure and comfortable with our staff.
The main purpose of the key person system is to create a "family" atmosphere, providing strong, secure relationships in which children can thrive. The EYFS highlights the key person's role as a vital link, sharing information with parents and carers about their child's experiences and development at pre-school.
We work hard to ensure warm, trusting relationships develop between children and their key person. Children spend time with their key person, who gives special attention to their individual needs and works closely with parents and the wider staff team to support their development

The Role of the Key Person
A key person is a name member of staff responsible for monitoring your child's development across the seven areas of learning defined by the EYFS. Each key person has special responsibility for their group of children and ensures that the needs of each individual child are recognised and supported within the pre-school.
Key persons will happily share development records with parents and carers and work with you if your child needs extra support to achieve the desired learning outcomes.
