Education
At You and Me Pre-School, we aim for all our children to achieve the following outcomes by the time they leave us and start Primary School.

Communication and Language
To enjoy engaging in back and forth conversations with friends and teachers using an expanding vocabulary.
To listen attentively and participate in adult-led group activities.

Physical Development
To develop fine motor and manipulation skills, using tools and resources effectively and purposefully (a spade for digging, scissors for cutting, a pencil for mark-making, etc).
To move confidently in a variety of ways to suit different activities.

Literacy
To enjoy books, listening to stories, looking at books and discussing stories with others.
To mark-make confidently, giving meaning to their marks.
To recognise and appreciate rhythm and rhyme.

Expressive Arts and Designs
To explore different materials confidently and express their own ideas through play and creation.
To be imaginative in small-world and role-play activities.

Mathematics
To use mathematical vocabulary, including numbers, size, shapes, quantities and positional langugage.
To be interested in numbers in everyday life.
To recognise and explore mathematical patterns.

Understanding The World
To be curious and enjoy exploring the natural world.
To develop an understanding of the diversity of families and people.
To learn to respect and care for the natural environment and all living things.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
To be happy and confident interacting and playing with others and able to express their feelings.
To be polite and demonstrate good manners.
To be curious, explore the world around them, making choices and perservere in achieving their goals.
To be increasingly independent, for example using the toilet, dressing themselves and making healthy choices.
